FR-10 is a public commoning project that seeks to renegotiate the flow of value and currency, through conscious, interdependent exchange, in the form of redeemable, recycled materials (cans, bottles, etc).
The premise is simple — Take a can, leave a can, share, redeem; etc — giving an opportunity for recycled material to have a second life ‑ and the potential to be converted for ‘real’ currency (and thusly, recycled in a much more efficient manner).
This practice encourages a redirection of the flow of relations from people for people in the exchange of value and prevention of waste, one that has obvious ecological benefits whilst subverting late capitalist structures of top-down ‘currency’ & value distribution.
